FutureTweets No Longer Allowing Recurring Tweets

Remember my post about the awesome auto-tweeting program, FutureTweets? Guess it's not as awesome as before. Apparently, the folks at FutureTweets were warned by the people at Twitter for providing recurring updates functionality to twitterers.

As much as I loved the feature, I guess I'd rather go through the hassle of manual tweeting than getting my Twitter account suspended. Now, the only thing you can do over at FutureTweets is schedule your tweets as usual, but you will not be able to set your tweets to be auto-published daily. You can still view and edit your old tweets to be republished at a future time and date, though.

I don't think I'll be using FutureTweets anymore after this. For more information on the topic, check out Twitter TOS and Twitter forum thread.

Schedule Your Tweets With FutureTweets

I just found one of the best web-based application for Twitter. If you're a busy blogger cum entrepreneur like me, you will find FutureTweets useful. In fact, when I first used it yesterday, I felt like I just hit the motherlode.

I love FutureTweets! What is it, you ask? FutureTweets is an online program that you can use to schedule your tweets! This is especially beneficial for lazy busy bloggers like me. Using FutureTweets, I don't have to tweet the same messages every day. I can just type in the link to my blog or website in FutureTweets and set my tweet to appear daily on Twitter if I want to.

FutureTweets is very cool in my book. The interface is extremely user friendly and straight to the point. FutureTweets enables users to save their tweets and edit or delete them as they like. I am not sure if there's any limit to the number of tweets you can save on FutureTweets, but right now, I have more than 10 scheduled tweets.

All you have to do is sign up on FutureTweets and register your Twitter username. If you're one of my followers on Twitter, pardon me in advance for the avalanche of tweets coming your way! Have fun!

How I Maximise My Twitter Potential

I am not into digging or stumbling blogs, and I've neglected Facebook for quite some time now, but I love Twitter. I am no expert in IT, computers, social networks or blogging for that matter. I just want to share a little bit of my experience of using Twitter.

One thing I dislike about Twitter is having to log on to the website to tweet. I have TwitterFox and Twhirl on my computer. TwitterFox is a Firefox add-on, while Twhirl is a social software client that can be used for Twitter, Friendfeed, identi.ca, or seesmic. Twhirl works on both Windows and Mac. I must say I love Twhirl more than TwitterFox. Both programs will notify you whenever the people you follow tweets, but I find that TwitterFox works even on slow connection days.

However, on fast connection days, Twhirl receives pings quicker than TwitterFox. I've signed up to Twitterfeed, a website which sends notifications to Twitter, Hellotxt, identi.ca or Ping.fm whenever you update your blog. Whenever I update my blogs, Twitterfeed will check my blogs' rss feeds every 30 minutes and send the title and/or description of my new blog posts to Twitter automatically. You can change the time to every 1 hour or more.

Okay, keeping this post at a reasonable length now, let me recap. Basically if you have Twitter, it is easier to tweet if you have either TwitterFox or Twhirl. If you have a Blackberry, Twitterberry would work for you. Don't forget to sign-up to Twitterfeed and get your latest blog posts tweeted for you automatically, which means more exposure and traffic for your blog! Happy Tweeting!

p/s. Look out for my next post about how I make money through Twitter. :)
