Have you ever ask yourself that question? I've asked myself that particular question countless of times, but it comes to one reason. I started blogging because it was the IN thing. Perhaps it is still in, but my blogging goals have changed.
From wanting to get 5000 unique page views to wanting to earn via blogging, from cursing Mr. G for penalising my blogs to getting stressed with JS Kit commenting system, I'm proud to say I no longer worry about all those things.
Sure, I do check my blog PRs from time to time. Which blogger doesn't? But I don't let it get to me, well, not much anyway.
I've recently read a blog post about how writing sponsored posts will make a blogger lose readership and how Mr. G will penalise blogs with sponsored posts. I couldn't help but chuckle at the blogger's words.
So why do you blog? Who are you blogging for? If it's for yourself, good for you. If you're making oodles of cash by writing tonnes of sponsored posts, that's awesome!
Me? It depends on which blog I'm writing on. I currently have 4 blogs altogether and they're all for different purposes. I write, I curse, I sing, I learn, it doesn't really matter as long as I get to share.
Screw PRs, screw Mr. G, screw paid posts! If you manage to say that and mean it, bravo. You're blogging for yourself and that's all that matters.
